Something Every Athlete Should Think About

Now, before anyone gets all pissy about it, I am not a religious person and that is is not why I'm posting this. It's simply the truth.

Have you ever noticed how some players and teams thank god for their wins. Why do they do that? I'm guessing that there were players on the other side praying for a win too and that god didnt choose sides. Do you think god had money on it so he influenced the outcome of the game or match? Truth be told, you should have faith in yourself, your abilities, your teamamtes and the ability of your teammates. Coaches too, of course. It's more likely that your own drive and determination had more to do with your victory than divine intervention. The number of professional athletes in the world is still a small number of the overall population. These people have certain ablities that others do not. If you honestly beleive that everyone is good at something, then sports would be their something. But this goes for amatuer athletes as well. I'm pretty sure that god doesnt just pick one team or player over the other, because that would kind of go against his own thing. I cant imagine some divine being getting all jazzed about watching another group of players lose because someone on the winning team prayed more. To thine own self be true. Beleive in what you can do. Beleive in what your coach says. Beleive in your teamamtes and their abilities, just dont bank on god picking you over your opponent. As I mentioned, I'm not a religious person at all, but I'm not saying that it's wrong to be that way. I'm just saying that I doubt god takes sides in games and that even if you are a very religious person you might wanna have faith in yourself too since you are the one that is actually playing mhe game.

That's why I was always partial to Bryan Cox coming off the field flipping the double bird to the crowd. Nothing spiritual there, just a heartfelt sentiment....
